The EZ-RJ45 fully shielded plug, with an external ground, combines the speed and reliability advantage exclusive to the EZ-RJ45 system with the performance advantage inherent to shielded products. This connector is suitable for both CAT5 and CAT6 applications.The jacket can be inserted all the way into the connector to ensure compliance with the CAT6 specification, while the CAT5 specification is slightly more relaxed and compliance can be achieved by inserting the jacket just ahead of the clamp.The maximum outer diameter of the cable when using these connectors is 6.6mm and the maximum outer diameter of each conductor is 1mm. 

The EZ RJ45 System

The EZ RJ45 system simplifies twisted pair terminations by allowing the wires to be inserted all the way through the ez connector and out the front. This allows the technician to easily verify the proper wiring order prior to crimping, saving time and reducing waste.Electrical performance of the termination is optimized by pulling the ez rj45 connector down over the cable jacket and seating it tightly in the rear of the connector. Reducing the distance between the wire twists and contacts improves the performance of the EZ RJ45 connectors.
