Speaker Terminal PlatesSpeaker wall plates are designed for use with stereo or surround sound speakers, so that the cables can be hidden within the walls. The wall plate is the ideal solution and allows you to terminate your cables neatly so that when the speakers are ready to be installed it is a simple process to attach banana plugs and simply plug the speakers into their respective wall plates. On this site we have a number of options for speaker wall plates, including flat banana outlets or gold posts, Euromod modules or architrave surface mounting and black or white mounting plates. All have screw terminals at the rear so that cables can be teminated using only a screwdriver.

The above images are of twin speaker outlets with gold posts mounted on standard 25 x 50mm Euromod faceplates. These will clip into any of our Euromod faceplates including the white plastic versions, standard BSS Euromod faceplates or the screwless versions available in various colours. An entire surround sound system can be wired using these speaker wall plates. A typical layout for a 5.1 system appears below. |

The layout above demonstrates how a complete system can be wired using a 5.1 surround sound wall plate in the wall behind the receiver, five speaker outlets behind each speaker (architrave speaker outlets are shown above) and an architrave outlet for the sub-woofer. The surround sound outlet plate is also available in 7.1 and 2.1 versions. |

Both of the above surround sound wall plates have the screw terminals on the rear for terminating the speaker cable (with the exception of the sub-woofer which has an F-type connector to maintain the integrity of the coaxial cable typically used by surround sound receivers or amplifiers). |

All of the above speaker outlets have screw terminals on the back. The Euromod versions fit Euromod faceplates which in turn fit standard UK electrical back boxes. These back boxes are available on this site in plastic or metal versions. Euromod facaplates are avaialable in several finishes and with apertures of either 50mm x 50mm or 100mm wide x 50mm high, so that other Euromod modules can be installed alongside the speaker terminals or blanking plates are available to fill the gaps. If necessary, the Euromod faceplates can be screwed directly to the wall providing that sufficient space is available at the rear to accept the cable and screw terminal assemblies. The architrave speaker outlets fit standard architrave electrical back boxes.
Convenient Contractors kits are available for various configurations of speaker outlets and surround sound systems, saving time when ordering for a complete system. These are shown below. |
