Whilst mid-range in price Onkyo’s TX-SR705 is a highly specified and sophisticated THX™ Select2™ receiver.
In common with the higher models all the latest audio and video formats can be accommodated. Three HDMI 1.3a inputs, Dolby® TrueHD, DTS-HD® Master Audio and Audyssey MultEQ® XT ensures the TX-SR705 is equipped to fully exploit Blu-Ray, HD-DVD and Sky HD broadcasts along with all standard resolution formats.
Faroudja DCDi Edge video processing provides excellent support for standard and high definition de-interlacing. With 1080p video up scaling and video up conversion a single HDMI connection between receiver and monitor is all that is required to view both HDMI and Component Video sources.
Both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD have raised the bar with regards picture and sound quality and the TX-SR705 is equipped to exploit all aspects of these improvements. With HDMI 1.3a connectivity Deep Color™, lip-sync correction and high frame rates are all accommodated while the new lossless surround formats such as Dolby Digital True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio allow films to be heard as the director intended.
Onkyo’s implementation of Audyssey MultEQ® XT Room Acoustics Correction processing accurately analyses and corrects room aberrations, solely in the digital domain, to ensure exceptional sound quality over a wide seating area.
Its powerful 160W per channel amplification will drive a wide range of speakers with ease while the bi-amp feature affords even further performance improvements. Finally Cirrus Logic 192 kHz / 24-Bit audio DAC’s are utilised on every channel.
With its optional iPod interface, direct IR input and RS232 control Onkyo’s TX-SR705 is a sophisticated and highly capable performer.
