The I21 integrated amplifier continues this tradition, retaining the dual-mono construction of the bigger A30.1.
What is dual-mono?
All stereo recordings comprise two discrete channels. When heard together, they create the illusion of a complete soundstage. Within most amplifiers, left and right channels will share circuitry, which can blur the distinction between them, undermining the stereo illusion.
Both the left and right channels of the I21 are kept totally separate from input to speaker output. The input signals are totally discrete, each having its own dedicated power amplifier within the I21’s chassis. All input and output stages have their own dedicated power supplies.
The I21’s dual-mono construction therefore creates an exceptionally accurate soundstage, with immense dynamic capabilities.
The I21 provides four inputs for sound sources such as CD player and Tuner. The optional R20 RIAA amplifier is available if your system includes an analogue turntable.
Fixed and variable line-level outputs permit the inclusion of an external A/V processor, or the addition of further amplification.
In keeping with the philosophy of the Primare range of systems, the I21 can be controlled through a very simple and intuitive set of front panel controls. Alternatively, the Primare C32 or C22 System RCU's can control all I21 functions, and all other components in a Primare system.
